Why it works for overland builds: Expedition vehicles and military trucks left in storage for weeks between expeditions lose significant battery charge through standby drain. This panel placed on the dash keeps that charge topped up using ambient and diffuse light through the windscreen — no mains connection required. Amorphous cells harvest more energy than monocrystalline through glass and in overcast conditions. Built-in blocking diode stops the battery discharging back through the panel at night.
